MuVacAS. Experimental Vacuum Accident Facility
Published:
Overview
MuVacAS (Multipurpose Vacuum Accident Scenarios) is an experimental facility developed to reproduce and investigate representative vacuum-loss events relevant to the IFMIF-DONES accelerator.
The facility provides a controlled environment for studying pressure transients, gas propagation, vacuum-system response and mitigation strategies.
Engineering focus
- Vacuum-loss accident scenarios
- Experimental vacuum dynamics
- Fast Safety Isolation Valves
- Differential vacuum systems
- Controlled gas injection
- Vacuum instrumentation and diagnostics
- Experimental data acquisition
- Model-to-experiment validation
My contribution
My work has included facility design and integration, experimental campaign definition, instrumentation and control, vacuum modelling, data analysis and engineering validation.
The project combines mechanical engineering with vacuum technology, accelerator safety and experimental research.
